- Cook the Pasta: Boil pasta in salted water until al-dente. We’ll reserve some of the pasta water to help thicken the garlic butter sauce later. Because of its high starch content, pasta water is an excellent way to thicken sauces!
- Prepare the sauce: Preparing the sauce is quite easy. Simply sauté minced garlic and melted butter to create a flavorful mixture. It is important to not overcook or burn the garlic!
- Combine: Once the pasta is cooked and the sauce is made, combine the pasta and sauce in a large bowl. Stir in additional pasta water if needed to thicken the sauce.

Garlic Butter Pasta
Ingredients
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3-4 cloves Garlic minced
- salt to taste
- 1 lemon
- Black Pepper freshly ground – to taste
- Fresh Parsley chopped, for garnish
- parmesan cheese Freshly grated for serving
Instructions
- Over medium-high heat, boil a pot of water and add salt. Follow package instructions to cook 8 oz fettuccine pasta until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water and then drain the pasta.
- While pasta is cooking, melt 4 tablespoons unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 3-4 cloves Garlic (minced) and saute until fragrant – about 1-2 minutes. Be sure not to burn the garlic.
- Optionally, add the juice of 1 lemon
